It Started With Our Mission Statement
Every so often, our leadership team sets aside the day-to-day and returns to first principles. Recently, we sat down together to revisit the mission and vision of Virginia Square Dermatology, line by line.
We were proud of much of what we read. Then we came to four words that stopped us: "serving the Arlington community."
Those words were written with intention. They are the reason we chose a home on North Fairfax Drive, the reason we built a team of physicians devoted to this neighborhood, and the reason we care so deeply about every patient who walks through our door. So we asked ourselves a simple question: are we truly serving all of Arlington?
The Honest Answer
Arlington is home to one of the proudest military communities in the nation. The Pentagon sits just down the road. Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall is part of our neighborhood. Arlington National Cemetery reminds us every day of the sacrifice behind the freedoms we enjoy.
Thousands of active duty families, retirees, veterans, and their loved ones call this area home. They are our neighbors, our friends, and the parents we see at school drop-off. Yet many of them could not use their TRICARE coverage to see us.
We realized we were not fulfilling our mission to the best of our ability. And once we saw that clearly, there was only one thing to do: fix it.
Today, We Are Proud to Share the News
As of today, Virginia Square Dermatology accepts TRICARE Select and TRICARE For Life.
This milestone reflects real dedication from our entire team, and it represents something much bigger than a new line on our insurance list. It is our mission, lived out more fully. It is our way of saying thank you to the service members, retirees, and families who have given so much to our country and to our community.
Please note that we are not able to accept TRICARE Prime at this time.
What This Means for You
If you or a family member are covered by TRICARE Select or TRICARE For Life, you can now receive the full range of medical and surgical dermatology care at Virginia Square Dermatology. That includes skin cancer screenings, mole and cyst removal, and treatment for acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, hair loss, and more.
TRICARE Select members can schedule with our physicians directly.
TRICARE For Life members, who pair TRICARE with Medicare Part A and Part B, can now enjoy coordinated coverage with us.
We recommend bringing your military ID and insurance cards to your first visit. Our front desk team is always happy to help with any questions about your coverage.
