Dermatologist

Virginia Square Dermatology is actively seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Dermatologist to join our boutique-style practice in the heart of Arlington. Medical Receptionist / Front Desk

We are seeking an individual with exceptional customer service skills to join us as part of the team at Virginia Square Dermatology. We provide premier medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatologic care to our patients in a warm and intimate environment. Virginia Square Dermatology is owned and operated by Dr. Isabela Jones; she will create a safe and friendly space for all employees to feel like a member of the Virginia Square Dermatology family. 

The ideal candidate will have previous medical front office experience, preferably in dermatology. The right candidate may also grow into an Office Manager position. 


Medical Receptionist Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone calls

  • Register and schedule patients

  • Welcome and check-in patients

  • Verify health insurance and eligibility

  • Explain basics of health insurance to patients 

  • Check-out patients

  • Collect payments for services and products

  • Confirm appointments

  • Help answer billing questions

  • Answer questions about medical procedures and products 

  • Retrieving and answering voicemails, faxes, e-mails

  • Scanning and faxing documents

  • Sorting and sending mail

  • Communicating with other doctor’s offices, business partners 

  • Occasionally help with medical assistant duties

Qualifications

  • High school degree (preferably Bachelor’s degree)

  • Minimum 1 year experience as medical receptionist

  • Excellent computer skills

Medical Assistant

Virginia Square Dermatology is a brand new, physician-owned medical practice seeking a medical assistant. The medical assistant is the physician’s right hand, and is essential in every aspect of the patient experience.

Candidates must have outstanding interpersonal skills and have the ability to multitask and work well in a fast paced environment. 


Medical Assistant Responsibilities 

  • Greet and room patients

  • Prior to the doctor entering, obtain and record medical history, reason for visit, take patient photos as needed

  • Assist physician during examination, including providing patient education

  • Obtain consent prior to procedures

  • Set up for and assist during procedures, in including cosmetic, surgical, and laser procedures

  • Remove sutures and provide basic wound care

  • Draw patient’s blood for labs and procedures

  • Scribe for physician using an iPad and/or computer

  • Send electronic prescriptions

  • Answer patient phone calls and help schedule appointments

  • Call or text patients lab and biopsy results

  • Completing prior authorizations

  • Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, vendors

  • Clean and prepare patient exam rooms

  • Maintain lasers in functioning order

  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies and stock rooms

  • Clean and sterilize surgical instruments

  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 1 year experience as medical assistant

  • The ability to perform phlebotomy

  • Excellent computer skills

Master Aesthetician

We are seeking an individual with exceptional customer service skills to join us as part of the team at Virginia Square Dermatology. Our clinically driven approach prioritizes individualized treatment planning, with an emphasis on natural-looking, long-term results. Patient education is a core part of the experience, ensuring every patient understands their treatment plan and how to maintain their results. We are committed to delivering a high standard of care in a detail-oriented, patient-focused, and results-driven setting.

The ideal candidate has at least one year previous aesthetician experience, preferably in dermatology.


Master Aesthetician

  • Meet with patients to assist with cosmetic and skincare consultations and provide necessary patient education and counseling

  • Perform customized clinical facials, extractions, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, medical grade chemical peels

  • Under the supervision of the Dermatologist, will be trained on and perform microneedling and Clear and Brilliant. Other energy-based devices may be added over time.

  • Provide product recommendations

  • Generating/maintaining client base

  • Communicate with patients who need follow-up or have questions promptly

  • Attend office meetings

  • The aesthetician will also be cross trained as a medical receptionist. If not directly with patients, the aesthetician will be responsible for answering patient calls, scheduling, checking patients in, checking patients out, sorting incoming faxes, coordinating with skincare and dermatology reps from other companies.

Qualifications

  • Active Master Aesthetician license in Virginia required.

  • Experience providing patient care in a clinical or medical aesthetics setting.

  • Proficiency in performing a wide range of skincare treatments, including advanced techniques such as chemical peels and dermaplaning.

  • Strong knowledge of skincare products, ingredients, and their benefits, with experience in medical-grade skincare and a demonstrated passion for medical aesthetics.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality care.

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
