Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) uses your own blood to create a solution that is full of your own growth factors.

There is outstanding scientific evidence for its ability to reduce hair loss and increase hair density and thickness in patients with androgenetic alopecia.

If you are suffering with male or female pattern hair loss, PRP can be a great treatment.

What is PRP?

PRP first starts out by drawing your blood. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge to prepare a concentrated solution of plasma and platelets. Platelets are the cells our body uses to heal wounds; they are full of growth factors. This solution is then injected back into your scalp using small needles. The platelets then release growth factors, which bind to the hair follicle to stimulate growth.

Patients can have mild bruising and tenderness on the scalp after the injections. There are no restrictions on activity or exercise after PRP. The injections are usually conducted monthly, and results are often seen beginning at 6 months after the first session.
